Hotel Continental Panticosa

A promise is a promise… this weekend we were in the Hotel Continental Panticosa. I had been years ago having dinner and I thought it was an incredible place and I was wishing to return, but this time they have enlarged it and my opinion was different.

It is not a hotel I would like to recommend in my blog, not because we had a bad time there, not at all, but because it doesn’t follow the characteristics I look foward in my blog; it isn’t cozy and it hasn’t got any charm. But is ok.

The hotel situation is extraordinary… it is 8km north from Panticosa, next to a small lake… spectacular… once we arrived to the hotel, which is very big, we entered in the reception where they were at least 10 persons in the queue and 50 more in the salon… there mi idea of cozy weekend just vanished. It is a 4 star hotel and everything was correct, but it wasn’t the idea I had.

The spa… I prefer not to comment… because although it’s pretty nice, until 19:00h its full of kids playing as if they were in the swimming pool.

So finally the place is great to go skiing, the slopes from Panticoa and Formigal are wonderful, the hotel is correct and they have very interesting offers. Recommend it as a place to spend a calm weekend, no. Ideal for skiing, yes.

Hotel Los Siete Reyes

I have just realized that I have never written a post about the most wonderful place in the world, for me, of course. It’s a small village in Aragon, called Ainsa, located in the province of Huesca. I have spent many summer holydays with my family there, so I have very nice memories. I try to go each year and I think each time its better.

The old part of town is gorgeous and even years pass by it preserves its charm; paved streets, stone houses and incredible views. I recommend, above all, visiting the castle that dates from XI century!

In the plaza, in the old part of town, there is a small hotel named Los Siete Reyes that if you decide visiting Ainsa, I recommend you to stay there. It has 6 rooms; 3 with views to the mail plaza and the other 3 to the Guara Mountains. Ask for a room in the last floor as they have sloping ceilings.

The breakfast is excellent and it is served in the middle floor. For those who sleep in a room on that floor could be a little bit noisy, but as the hotel is very small, breakfast time is never crowded.

If you want to get lost, I recommend you Ainsa.

¡Yo ya he estado 2 veces!

Taking advantage that we are in the skiing season, there is a small hotel, going to the ski slopes of Formigal and Panticosa (Aragonese Pyrenees), which I would like to recommend you. I have already been two times! It’s The Privilegio de Tena Hotel, located in the Tena Valley, where the landscape is unique and the fact that the hotel has few rooms makes your stay ideal.

After a Ski day, nothing is better than relaxing at the SPA. It’s espectacular!

The hotel has a restaurant where its signature cuisine typical of that area, is worth trying.

¡Ya tengo muchas ganas de volver!/  I'm looking forward to go again this year!
